Vegetarian Burger Falafel Patties
Good on the BBQ or can be pan fried. Makes 12 patties.
Vegetarian Burgers Falafel Patties
Ingredients
1 can chick peas (garbanzo beans), drained (14 oz)
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 onion, finely chopped (may use spring onions)
1 bell pepper (green or red), finely chopped
1/2 tsp baking powder
3 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
1 tsp ground cumin
#1 Rinse chick peas well in water, drain.
#2 In food processor, blend chick peas till smooth.
#3 Add remaining ingredients, blend till well combined.
#4 Place mixture in glass/ceramic bowl, let rest 1 hour.
#5 Shape mixture into 12 falafel patties.
#6 Chill patties minimum of 15 minutes (or longer).
BBQ
#1 Preheat BBQ to medium.
#2 Cook patties on well oiled grill 4-5 minutes per side.
#3 Cooked patties should be golden and heated through.
