Stress Relief Tips

I took a poll to find out what people do to alleviate stress and tension. One of the top answers was alcohol. That's certainly a bad idea because alcohol is a depressant.

I knew that, but one day I was sooooooooooo blue I decided to drink a scotch all by myself in the living room. I liked scotch very much and I prepared it on the rocks the way I liked it. I sat down with my drink. I was crying silent tears. And I sipped a mouthful and damn near choked; it tasted so horrible. I ran out to the kitchen and dumped the glassful and the mouthful into the sink.

Then I began to smile. I knew then that I'd never be an alcoholic. :)

Thus, the results of my poll to help relieve stress are:


  • Drink water/Herbal tea
  • Practice Yoga
  • Do a Crossword puzzle/SudokuPlay Solitaire
  • Play non-competitive Sports
  • Hum
  • Whistle
  • Sing
  • Cry
  • Run
  • Walk
  • Read
  • Meditate/Deep breathing
  • Read the comics - every day.
