Meditation Method: A Universal Approach
My Meditation Method
Knowing that time and money are always stretched to the max, I
can introduce you to a meditation method that does not infringe on your time and costs
nothing. I have used it for about thirty years and can vouch for its effectiveness.
It works for me.

Meditation with deep breathing
Breathing is important to all forms of meditation. To practice
deep breathing:
- Lie down flat on your back with one hand on your belly.
- Inhale through your nose from the belly first. Continue to inhale through
the chest until it almost hurts near the breast bone. (5 seconds)
- Exhale slowly. (7 seconds)
Practice this breathing in a sitting position; practice in a standing position.
Clear your mind:
To reset, reboot and recharge you have to clear your mind so:
 |
- Ensure that there are no distracting sounds.
- Focus on silence.
- Clear out distracting thoughts by focusing on the mantra you have
chosen.
My phrase came from as old book by David St. Clair that I bought from
a library discard sale. I liked it; I memorized it and I use it every
day.
The phrase is actually a sentence:
- "I bring the cosmic forces into my body;"
This sounds silly on its own, but combined with imagery, it is powerful.
There is an abundance of energy in the universe and our bodies are made
up of energy, so picture energy as a white light that you can bring into
your body.
|
To complete the meditation add three more words:
"I bring the cosmic forces into my body-
- Asking for STRENGTH
- Asking for PROTECTION
- Asking for GUIDANCE."
Repeat the whole request three times slowly imagining the light
- inside your whole body (strength)
- around your whole body (protection)
- inside your brain.(guidance)
This takes less than 5 minutes and can start your day right. Your whole day
will run smoother.
Do it also:
- If you find you're stressed waiting for the dentist's drill.
- If you can't get to sleep.
- If you can't get back to sleep.
You get the idea, and it leaves you time to get outdoors to exercise!
Reducing stress through meditation helps to prevent depression and avert anxiety.
Meditation also preserves memory function and maintains brain cells. We all
need our "little grey cells", so meditate and take Omega 3!
Have a smooth day -- meditate!
