James Barber's BBQ Sauce
You will never use store-bought again.
1 cup organic cane sugar
1 cup wine or apple cider vinegar
1 cup soy sauce
3 tbsp corn starch
3 tbsp whiskey, or rum, or vodka (we like rum)
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1. Bring to a boil: sugar, vinegar, soy sauce.
2. Combine well the corn starch with the rum and cayenne.
3. Add the corn starch mixture to the boiling liquid.
4. Simmer until glossy and coats a spoon.
5. Use right away in your favourite recipe and/or cool, and store in glass jar in the fridge until needed.
