Ginger Crinkle Cookies

3/4 cup soft butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup fancy molasses
2 tsp vinegar
3 3/4 cups flour
2 tsp ginger powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves

Beat butter and sugar together, then beat in eggs 1 at a time, then beat in molasses and vinegar. In separate bowl, combine all dry ingredients and blend with fork. Add dry to wet in thirds.

Roll dough into generous 1-inch balls and place on parchment lined baking sheets (grease the sheets if you don't have parchment). Bake 325 degree oven for 12-15 minutes. Cook on pans for 2-3 minutes, then transfer to cooling racks. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
